Okay, NO.
Just because someone changed one facet of their appearance does not negate them as a role model.
Mayim Bialik got lucky. She’s in her role today in BBT theory because she played an adorkable teen in Blossom. And because of that nose, she’ll never play roles in which she’s taken seriously as an attractive female lead. I’m not saying she’s not beautiful, but her nose has limited the type of roles she’s able to play.
And if Stana doesn’t do it for money or fame - she still has to make a living. And when she still had her old nose, she was doing a lot of small films and guest spots where again, she was cast in very specific roles because of her appearance. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that she wouldn’t have had major success or be able to make a living off how she looked before. It’s a sad industry, but that’s the way it is.
She certainly wouldn’t be the lead on Castle, I can tell you that much.
A person’s personal cosmetic choices has nothing to do with their inner beauty, spirit, or kindness. Stana Katic embodies all of those things and lives life vivaciously and without fear. And she’s kind to everyone she meets, so to me -
that embodies a role model.

People magazine has announced that American actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman”. I don’t contest that she is quite the natural beauty, but to say she is the “world’s most beautiful” might be questionable. Whatever it takes to sell Iron Man 3…

Obviously People Mag has never heard of this lovely lady.
It will now air one week later on Monday, April 29. The episode originally scheduled for April 29, “The Squab and the Quill,” will now air on April 22, replacing “Still.”I’m sorry if I’m a horrible person for whining about this, but… no. You don’t air episodes out of order. It would be better to push everything back a week, although I’d still probably whine about missing a week. But that’s the whole reason why TV shows are cool. They’re written and shown in a specific order for a reason. And I’m sorry again, but current events shouldn’t have an affect on an episode of a fictional TV show that was written months ago and already scheduled to air on a certain date. It’s completely unrelated. And anyway, what’s really the difference if it airs this Monday or next? It’s still a bomb-themed episode (with totally different circumstances than the Boston thing, I might add). And, I mean, if they avoided showing episodes of crime shows where someone was murdered every time someone was murdered somewhere in real life… crime shows wouldn’t exist.
It’s not uncommon. Episodes are often pulled when tragic events happen, like 9/11 or the recent spurt of school shootings.
Your opinion shows a blatant disregard and disrespect for those dealing with a tragic event. It’s not completely unrelated. In fact, an episode like Still has the potential to be incredibly triggering and traumatic. And maybe if it airs two weeks later instead of one week later, it’ll lessen the impact for some. It might not, but it could. And I think that’s the least they can do.
Also- saying you’re “sorry” before writing an insensitive post does not negate your blatant insensitivity.
You’re 22. Time to grow up and realize that life doesn’t revolve around entertainment or “cool tv shows.”
(Source: lizznotliz, Via: isayitslove13)So last night I got a little upset at Shonda Rhimes’ comment about Grey’s being “just a television show.” And this is why (and this is a post about Castle, not GA):
As Castle approaches its 100th, I’m reminded of how I started watching in the first place. I’d seen the previews when it started in its first season, but I was relatively dismissive at first glance - so sure that it would be canceled because it looked like every other cop show around - with an Olivia Benson lookalike to match.
Even though Elizabeth (my best friend) watched, I ignored the show until it reached its third season. A lot had changed for me that year - I quit a part-time job that I’d had for four years and spent my breaks at home doing nothing because I was so burnt out. That year was also the year I lost my other best friend - Brittany - to suicide. Three weeks before I was set to return to college for sophomore year, I got the phone call you’re never prepared for.
I need Stana and Marish to meet someday because I think they would really hit it off and be besties for life.
sometimes I have to actively force myself not to stare a photo of SK for too long because I just constantly compare my looks to hers.
and I mean, really, how is anyone not supposed to feel bad about themselves after looking at her?

stana, your julia roberts is showing.
(Source: iuxtaa, Via: lovejessielou)my best friend and I are watching Supernatural and she says to me, you know what would be great? If we printed out pictures, like candids, of the characters and stuck them in photo albums with names written on the back to mess with our future kids?
Obviously, I’d do it for Castle.
Oh, that’s your Aunt Kate and Uncle Rick.
Why don’t we ever see them?
…They live in Canada.
And then they don’t even realize you’ve fucked with them until they turn on the television one day.
Ryan and Esposito were really afraid of their mom in this episode.
I just texted Luke yesterday and today he hung out with Stana for a few hot minutes.
Castle fans:
Stana will be walking the red carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards today. RedCarpetLuke is co-anchoring the red carpet coverage so he’ll be sure to interview her.
Not sure when she’ll be arriving, but the livestream is from 1:30-4:30 EST and you can check it out here:

So I just really love Bracken, okay?
